How to Sleep on an Airplane

Screaming babies. Noisy announcements from the in-flight crew. A seat that reclines mere millimeters. These are among the elements that conspire to keep you awake on long flights. But this doesn't have to be.

Howcast's "How to Actually Get Some Sleep on a Plane" video offers loads of tips on snoozing while you're cruising (at 35,000 feet). Take a look:

I admit, I almost laughed out loud at the lengthy list of things you're supposed to bring. A body pillow? Water wings? Granted, some of these are optional, but I guess packing a few extra items is worth getting some in-flight Z's.

What do you think? Does the video hit the mark, or is this overkill? How do you catch winks in the air? Personally, I opt for earplugs over noise-canceling headphones, and I try to bring something like a sweatshirt I can ball up and use as pillow if there isn't one available (or put on if I'm too cold). The eye mask is definitely a good idea, though men should take note: you'll look like a dork. [via Digital Inspiration]
