How to Lock the BlackBerry Storm's Touchscreen
RIM's first touchscreen BlackBerry certainly has faced a Storm of criticism, hasn't it? One complaint is with the touchscreen, which remains active during a call (unlike the iPhone's, which goes dark when held against your head).
Fortunately, there's TalkLock, a free utility that locks the Storm's touchscreen during calls so you don't accidentally press the mute or speaker button with your face.
The program, which activates automatically a few seconds after a call is connected, intercepts all touchscreen actions. When the call ends, TalkLock releases control of the screen. Need to access a phone function while on a call? Just swipe your finger across the screen, iPhone-style, to manually unlock it.
Definitely a handy bit of code for any BlackBerry Storm user. Are you one of them? If so, hit the Comments and tell us how the device is working out! [via Confessions of a freeware junkie]
