How Old Is Cher? You Couldn't Tell By Her Outfit

Cher proved that she could turn back time with her appearance Sunday night at the MTV Music Video Awards in Los Angeles.

The 64-year-old pop singer appeared onstage to present the award for Best Music Video in a sheer , sequined ,black body suit and long black boots with black stockings, reminiscent of her outfit in the music video of 1989's "If I Could Turn Back Time."

The costume created a stir then and even led to a banning of the video in some places. Sunday night, it appeared, if not tame, at least on a par with some other of the show's costumes.

Cher, herself brought up the topic of age: "I'm the oldest chick with the biggest hair in the littlest costume," she said.

"I have shoes older than most of these nominees, " she added, pointing out that when she first wore the costume "Lady Gaga was Baby Gaga."

Even Lady Gaga , who won the award, seemed excited by Cher's appearance. "I never thought I'd be asking Cher to hold my meat purse," she said.
