"How I Met Your Mother" beefs up season 9 guest stars

"Farhampton" will be packed when the cast of "How I Met Your Mother" heads to the faux Long Island area for Barnie (Neil Patrick Harris) and Robin's (Cobie Smulders) wedding in the final season of CBS' comedy, debuting this fall.

Sherri Shepherd will have a recurring role on the show's ninth season, which kicks off Sept. 23 at 8 p.m. ET. The actress and co-host of "The View" will play Daphne, a woman traveling to New York on the same flight as Marshall (Jason Segel).

Executive producer Craig Thomas said, "She is hilarious and delightful and perfect for this part -- we couldn't be more thrilled."

Ellie Kemper of "The Office" fame will also play a role in the upcoming season, portraying Cassie. Thomas told TVLine that Cassie will also be at the nuptials as "one of the most attractive, available, and -- as Ted discovers -- unfortunate guests at Barney and Robin's wedding."

Wayne Brady will resurrect his role as Barney's brother.

And viewers will finally get to see Ted (Josh Radnor) meet the woman he will eventually marry this year. She will be portrayed by new series regular, Cristin Milioti. "How I Met Your Mother" teased her role in the season 8 finale, showing her buying a train ticket to the wedding in "Farhampton." Right now she's only known as the woman with the yellow umbrella.
