Houston man killed, dismembered best friend, say cops

Noe Morin KHOU

(CBS/AP) - A 32-year-old Houston man faces murder charges for the gruesome death and dismemberment of his best friend, police say.

Cops arrested Noe Morin Monday after finding the body of Marlon Thomas outside of a vacant house next door to Morin's home. Thomas' head and an arm were found stuffed into a trash bag next to a chainsaw, while the rest of his remains were in the backyard next door.

Family members and neighbors say the two men had been best friends for years and a possible argument over money might have led to the 35-year-old Thomas' demise.

Neighbors claim they heard the two men arguing Saturday night. One neighbor, Crystal Burks, said Morin was known "to have a temper." Neighbors also say they heard gun shots, but did not hear a chainsaw being used during the weekend.

Police wouldn't comment on a possible motive.

Tonya Dangerfield, the victim's sister, said her brother was a good person who worked in construction.

"He didn't deserve to get this done to him," she said.

An autopsy was ordered.
