Hot Maternity Fashions For Cool Weather
When someone says maternity wear you probably picture dowdy, baggy clothes. Well that fashion is out with last millennium. Designers now make it possible to look smart and hip during the whole nine months.
Designers such as Diane von Furstenberg and Vivienne Tam are answering the huge demand for stylish maternity wear.
Renee Carman of Fit Pregnancy magazine narrated a fashion show of fall and winter maternity wear on the CBS Early Show. She presents such upcoming fall trends as '60s & '70s style clothing, deep colors and geometric designs.
Designers have finally picked up on the trend and they see that there is a market that hasnt been researched, Carman told host Cynthia Bowers.
Carman also recommended some specific brands of maternity wear:
- Japanese Weekend. It offers affordable clothing where one can get a whole outfit for $70.
- Liz Lange. Here, you can dress from head to toe, with all accessories coordinated.
- LAtesa. Sleek and expensive, it offers a variety of special events clothing.
Some other fashion tips for expectant mothers include working with accessories such as inexpensive jewelry and Japanese sticks for the hair, and playing around with clothes that are not necessarily maternity such as sarongs.
The idea is similar to what youd do if you were on a budget and trying to accessorize with what you already own, added Carman.
Fabrics such as cottons and lycras, which are stretchable and fitting, are a "must have" in maternity wear. Pants that have cotton panels or expandable waistbands can prove to be both stylish and comfortable.
