Hot Dogs
On The Saturday Early Show, resident veterinarian Debbye Turner shows of six of the hottest dog breeds of the moment.
Here are brief descriptions of the dogs' claim to fame, with links to more information from The American Kennel Club.
CAVALIER KING CHARLES SPANIEL
This breed became popular when Charlotte, one of the main characters in "Sex and the City," got one. Her dog's name was Elizabeth. They are also owned by celebrities, including Courtney Cox and Diane Sawyer.
SCOTTISH TERRIER
A very popular breed these days because President Bush's dog, Barney, is one. The Bush family is expecting a new Scottish Terrier puppy, which was a present from the president to the first lady after he won his second term.
FRENCH BULLDOG
They have been seen in quite a few movies, most notably, "Just Married," "Bringin' Down the House," "Second Hand Lions" and in the opening of "Armageddon."
BRUSSELS GRIFFON
This was the cute little dog in the movie "As Good As It Gets."
NEAPOLITAN MASTIFF
It was in the Harry Potter movie, "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone." The character Hagrid had one named "Fang."
BLACK RUSSIAN TERRIER
This year, the American Kennel Club decided to recognize the Black Russian Terrier and the Neapolitan Mastiff for competition.
