Holly Fischer Update: Body of missing N.C. woman found inside her car, report says
(CBS) JEFFERSON, NC - Authorities in Wilkes County say they have found the body of missing North Carolina woman Holly Fischer in her car, down an embankment off Highway 16, according to CBS affiliate WBTV.
The station reports Fischer's vehicle was found on Sunday night off a highway in Wilkes County, but rescuers were not able to get to the car until Monday morning. Once they did, they found the Fischer's body inside.
Friends and family members had reportedly been searching for the 39-year-old woman who disappeared May 27. Fischer had left her parents' home in Knoxville, Tenn. to presumably return to her hometo Charlotte, N.C.
WBTV reports police had previously said foul play is a possibility. The investigation is ongoing.
