Heyward To Leave ICU Soon

Indianapolis Colts fullback Craig Heyward, recuperating from surgery for a benign tumor on his brain, is expected to leave the intensive care unit at Methodist Hospital within the next few days, a hospital spokeswoman said Tuesday.

Heyward had a 12-hour operation last Thursday. The tumor at the base of his skull was discovered after he complained of blurred vision.

"He is still in serious but stable condition," spokeswoman Jennifer Farley said. "He's doing well. I just saw him and he's up and talking."

She said it was too soon to speculate when Heyward might be released from the hospital.
