Here's your first look at Benedict Cumberbatch as "Doctor Strange"
Marvel has managed to do some pretty, err, marvelous stuff.
They made us care about a talking tree. They made a gun-toting raccoon seem real. They made a superhero named Ant-Man cool. But how could they possibly translate to the big screen "Doctor Strange," the story of neurosurgeon Stephen Strange, who, after an accident, discovers magic and alternate dimensions and begins fighting crime by casting spells?
If this first look at Benedict Cumberbatch is any indication, they did it:

In the issue, the "Sherlock" star explains how he got into character, saying, "It was like, okay, I've got to keep throwing these poses, these spells, these rune-casting things, everything he does physically. I'm thinking, there's going to be a huge amount of speculation and intrigue over the positioning of that finger as opposed to it being there, or there."
"And I'm still working on that," he added. "We haven't played any of those scenes yet. I felt really self-conscious. But, then, by the end, it was great. It's like anything, you just have to experiment."
The film, which doesn't hit theaters until Nov. 4, also stars Chiwetel Ejiofor as the villanous Baron Mordo and Tilda Swinton as The Ancient One, a mystical guru who gives Strange his powers. Rachel McAdams and Mads Mikkelsen also star in undisclosed roles.
When we were first shown the darker, grittier, and certainly very, very, trippy concept art for "Doctor Strange" at D23, Cumberbatch promised, "Girls, cars, explosions, and a little bit of astral projection into multiple dimensions. The usual fare."
Now, he's doubling down on that promise, telling EW, "There's all sorts of craziness. Falling, flying, jumping, fighting, punching, getting punched. It's really rough and tumble."
