Heavy Lifting: Okla. Women Allegedly Hid $2,600 Worth of Stolen Goods in their Body Fat
EDMOND, Okla. (CBS) Two full-figured women with a fondness for boots were arrested after they allegedly attempted to use the flab in those figures to shoplift $2,600 worth of merchandise from a T.J. Maxx store.
Edmond police say 28-year-old Ailene Brown and 37-year-old Shmeco Thomas are facing felony shoplifting charges after using "areas of their body where excess skin was" including "under their chest and armpits" to conceal the goods, reports The New York Daily News.
Edmond Police Officer James Hamm said the women attempted to smuggle four pairs of boot, three pairs of jeans, a wallet and gloves in the various folds in their bodies.
One of the women supposedly tried to hide three out of the four pairs of boots underneath her breasts.
According to The New York Daily News, police also found a knife in Brown's handbag which she used to cut the security tags of their heisted items.
If convicted, the alleged "heavy lifters" may soon be depositing their fat cells in jail cells.
