Hasek To Miss All-Star Game

Dominik Hasek, who has missed most of the season because of a groin injury, will not play in Sunday's NHL All-Star game in Toronto.

The NHL announced Thursday that St. Louis Blues goalie Roman Turek will replace Hasek on the World team.

Hasek, who played Tuesday night for the first time since Oct. 29, decided to sit out the game to give the injury more time to heal. Hasek has played in just 10 games this season, and is 1-4-2 with a 2.60 goals-against-average and .905 save percentage.

Hasek was to start for the World team after receiving the most votes in fan balloting. The new starting goalie hasn't been announced.

Turek, like Hasek, is a native of the Czech Republic. In 43 games this season, Turek has a 26-11-5 record with a 2.05 goals-against average and .909 save percentage.
