Harrison Ford Crashes 'Copter
Actor Harrison Ford crash-landed a helicopter during training Saturday in Southern California, but emerged unhurt, reports KCBS-TV in Los Angeles.
Ford and his instructor were flying a Bell 206 helicopter practicing landings without power near Lake Piru, northeast of Fillmore, when the million-dollar chopper landed on its left side and suffered major damage.
Neither Ford, a licensed helicopter and airplane pilot, nor the unidentified instructor-pilot were hurt.
Ford left the Van Nuys airport in the Los Angeles San Fernando Valley suburb.
The Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board plan to investigate. Fillmore, in Ventura County, is about 60 miles northwest of Los Angeles.
