(CBS News) Green Day isn't working on just one - but three - new albums.

The trio is in the studio recording material for a trilogy called "Uno," "Dos" "Tre" that will be unveiled starting this fall on Sept. 25, 2012, Nov. 13, 2012 and Jan. 15, 2013, respectively.

The collection comes on the heels of Green Day's 2009 "21st Century Breakdown" Grammy-winning album.

"We are at the most prolific and creative time in our lives," said the members of Green Day, who are recording in their hometown of Oakland, Calif. "This is the best music we've ever written, and the songs just keep coming ... Every song has the power and energy that represents Green Day on all emotional levels."

Green Day will induct Guns N' Roses into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Saturday in Cleveland. Also coming up are overseas festival appearances in August and September.
