Google Adds Anti-Phishing Warnings to Search Results

Google just added an extra layer of protection against phishing sites, which try to trick you into revealing confidential information. Now, when you run a Google search, any site flagged by Google as being a known phishing site will present a warning when you click it:

Warning - phishing (web forgery) suspected. The site you are trying to visit has been identified as a forgery, intended to trick you into disclosing financial, personal or other sensitive information.
Google already flags sites that distribute malware, which I discovered for the first time just a couple days ago. And although the latest versions of Firefox, Internet Explorer, and Opera have their own anti-phishing tools built in, it's great to see Google helping to fight the good fight. Surprisingly few users know the first thing about phishing or how to avoid it. [via Google Operating System]
