(CBS/WFOR) FORT LAUDERDALE - Police in Florida arrested the girlfriend of a wealthy businessman Tuesday and charged her with murdering him during what police say was a domestic argument.

Catherine Marie Pileggi, 55, was charged with first-degree murder after she turned herself in at the Fort Lauderdale Police Department, reports CBS station WFOR. Police say they believe Pileggi and the 70-year-old Ronald Vinci got into a fight that ended with Vinci's death.

"We believe there was some sort of argument that ensued because Mr. Vinci had been trying to get Mrs. Pileggi out of his life," said Detective Travis Mandell.

Last Tuesday police reportedly received a tip from a person who said they found a man's body wrapped in bed sheets and plastic in a mansion along Southwest Coconut Drive in Fort Lauderdale. Police identified the body as Vinci, who had bought the mansion only two weeks ago for $2.9 million, according to WFOR.

Vinci was reportedly a self-made man who made a fortune in Honda car dealerships and real estate in Southern California.

An attorney representing the Vinci family said they are still reeling from the loss of their loved one, reports WFOR.

Pileggi was taken to the Broward County Jail Tuesday.

Fort Lauderdale Police said they are continuing to investigate the case and if you have any information about the death, call Broward County Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS (8477).
