Get Things Done with PingMe

pingme.jpgNagging gets a bad rap. I mean, think of all the household chores that would never get done if not for... Whoa, I think I'll stop right there. But, seriously, sometimes it just takes repeated reminders before you get off your duff and get things done. Hence the appeal of PingMe, a free service that sends reminders via e-mail or text message.

To set up a "ping," you simply type in a message (e.g., "Follow up with Joe Smith re: contract"), then choose the date and time to send it. You can also have PingMe "pester" you at specified internals (say, every 10 minutes) until you reply with an "ok," which turns pestering off.

Admittedly, you can accomplish more or less the same thing with Google Calendar, Remember The Milk, and similar services, but I like PingMe because it's designed expressly for the purpose of reminding you to do stuff. It's free and easy to use, and it could save your neck. [via Web Worker Daily]
