Get Rewarded for Reducing Your E-mail Inbox Clutter
Dealing with e-mail is something of a Sisyphean task, with new messages rolling in faster than you can respond to the old ones, and the perhaps counter-productive tendency to use e-mail as a task and project status manager. We never tire of giving advice to help you manage your inbox better, so here's a new way to conquer your e-mail.
0Boxer is sort of like an e-mail game; it rewards you with points every time you do something constructive with your e-mail, such as replying to messages, archiving, and deleting them. 0Boxer works with Gmail in either Firefox or Chrome, and the points you earn manifest themselves on a public leaderboard, where your competitive spirit should encourage you to "win" by dealing with your e-mail. Note that's a zero, not the letter O in 0Boxer -- it's all about emptying your inbox in a productive way.
Silly? Kind of. But as someone who currently has almost 400 e-mails in his inbox, I'm willing to try anything to conquer my problem. What's the word from readers? Would 0Boxer influence your ability to clean up your inbox?
