If you're one of the few million people trying out Windows 7, you're probably hunting for tips to help you root out its new features and most interesting abilities. After all, snapping windows to the sides of the screen is old hat by now, but did you know WordPad can now natively read both Office 2007 and Sun OpenDocument files?

For another 29 or so secrets, check out Tim Sneath's Bumper List of Windows 7 Secrets. Here are a few of my favorites:

  • Press Win+P to connect your laptop to a projector
  • Want to move a windows to the same relative location on your other monitor? Press Win+Shift+[Arrow Key]
  • The icons in the task bar can be rearranged. Like Outlook to always have the first slot near the Start button? No problem â€" just drag it there. Even better, Win+1, Win+2, and so on are the shortcuts to start the first five item in the task bar.
And while you're here, don't forget to read Rick's Nine Cool Keyboard Shortcuts for Windows 7.
