After setting up your free Trackle account, you can choose from among dozens of categories -- weather, travel, classified ads, news, finance, and much more -- and specify what you'd like to be alerted about. You can even configure Trackle to let you know when news about you appears on the Internet, a sort of automated way to Google yourself.

The service is still in beta, but there's already an astounding depth to the catalog of things you can track, and the service is pretty convenient. You can choose to get alerts in e-mail or on your phone, and there's a vacation mode to put all our messages on hold.
