Get a Cheap Laptop with Your T-Mobile HotSpot Access

olpc2.jpgIf you're planning to spring for a year of pre-paid T-Mobile HotSpot access, you can pay a little bit extra and get one of those new, colorful laptops that are part of the One Laptop Per Child effort.

As part of their "Give One Get One" program, for $400, you get one of those weird laptops (which New York Times tech guru David Pogue loves), you get the $200 tax deductible donation to charity (and some kid somewhere gets another laptop), and you get the T-Mobile access, which usually costs $340 by itself. (Here are a list of hotspots in the US.)

If you travel a lot, you probably pay for a yearly subscription to one of the hotspot providers anyway. As Consumerist notes, paying $60 for two laptops—one of which goes straight to charity and the other of which you can do whatever you want with—is a pretty good deal.
