Gadget Lust: 3M MPro120 Pocket Projector

Aha, so now we know why the 3M MPro110 pocket projector went on sale earlier this month: Its successor was just around the corner. The 3M MPro120 is a "second-generation" pocket projector, and you'll be able to pick one up (in the palm of your hand, literally) starting September 1.

Take a look at this bad boy, which makes the old model look like an Edsel:

So, what's new this time around? For starters, 3M's new MM200 projection engine, which "uses an advanced liquid crystal on silicon (LCOS) electronic imager and boasts enhanced image quality with a full color gamut."

3M promises battery life of 2-4 hours (depending on the brightness setting) and a maximum brightness of 12 lumens -- 50 percent more than the MPro110.

Alas, the resolution still tops out at 640 x 480, and the price tag remains a little steep at $349 (only $10 less than the MPro110's debut price). But, let's face it, you want one, we want one, and damn if we're not going to push hard to get the bosses to pay for one!
