Gabrielle Giffords Makes Progress (Photos)

The office of Rep. Gabrielle Giffords (D-Ariz.) on Tuesday night released new photographs of the congresswoman, who remains in critical condition after Saturday's mass shooting in Tucson, Ariz.

The photos were taken Sunday in the congresswoman's room at University Medical Center. They show her husband Mark Kelly holding her hand.

Though she was shot in the head, Giffords' doctors have said she has a 100 percent chance of survival. Just three days after the horrific event, she was moving both arms and breathing on her own.

President Obama will travel to Tucson today, where he will speak in an evening event to commemorate the six people killed and 14 injured in Saturday's shooting.
