Ryan Brunn  was sentenced an hour after he pleaded guilty to killing to the child at the apartment complex where they both lived, CBS affiliate WGCL reported.

According to police, Rivera was playing at an apartment complex playground in Canton, Ga. on Dec. 2, 2011. She was returning to her building when Brunn allegedly lured her to a vacant apartment nearby. He told the judge he found Rivera's roller skate and used it to lure her in.

Detectives said Brunn beat, raped and stabbed the girl to death. Brunn was a maintenance man at the complex.

Authorities found the girl's body in a trash bin there three days after her mother reported her missing.

Brunn was indicted last week in the 7-year-old's death on one count of murder, two counts of aggravated assault, aggravated battery and cruelty to children in the first degree.
