Free Stuff: 6 Giveaways for Earth Day

Just days after retailers and shops offered free Tax Day freebies, many places are offering freebies on and around Earth Day - Friday, April 22 - both to celebrate and lure you in. Here's a round-up of some national giveaways I found. If you know of any additional free offers, please log in and add them below.

Free Coffee
Trying to reduce your personal coffee cup waste? Bring in your own travel mug to Starbucks and a barista will serve you a free hot cup of coffee on Friday.

Free Shopping Bag
Receive a free reusable shopping bag from your local Disney store when you bring in five plastic bags to recycle on Friday. Limit one bag per guest.

Free Beauty Products
Bring a container of your current skincare product - whether it's empty or not - to any Origins store to swap it for a full-size cleanser from the skincare company. Supplies are limited, so best to arrive early. You need to first fill out an online form and bring the printout with you.

Free Tree Saplings
Need a tree to hug? Head to Lowe's, which is celebrating Earth Day by giving away 1 million trees to customers on Friday.

Free National Park Entrance
Earth Day this year coincides with National Park Week -- and from April 16 through April 24 many national parks are offering free admission. Check out the National Park Services' calendar of events to find a free park site near you.

Free Gardening Workshops
Home Depot stores are hosting free workshops starting on Earth Day to teach customers basic gardening. An eco-friendly gardening class will be held both at 7 p.m. Thursday and 1 p.m. Saturday at stores across the country. You can also go back to Home Depot at 10 a.m. on Saturday for a free class on energy-efficient, electricity- and water-saving products.
