Franken Takes Senate Campaign To Letterman

Comedian Al Franken, the likely Democratic nominee against Sen. Norm Coleman (R-Minn.), was on the “Late Show With David Letterman” last night and talked about the campaign, including this nugget on disgraced former New York Gov. Eliot Spitzer:

Letterman: Is there anything we need to know about you and escort services before we go on, here?

Franken: Let me just say this. I thought Eliot Spitzer showed very bad judgment.

Letterman (laughing): In his soliciting and use of prostitutes?

Franken: Exactly — and it’s the kind of bad judgment that you don’t want from your elected officials, and I promise not to indulge in any judgment that bad.

Letterman: That bad, yeah. ... And that’s all you have to say?

Franken: I’ll leave it at that. Very poor judgment.
