Francis Fined For Foul

Houston Rockets guard Steve Francis was fined $5,000 by the NBA on Wednesday for a flagrant foul he committed one night earlier against Dallas' Dirk Nowitzki.

Francis was called for the foul with 2:57 left in the second quarter Tuesday night when Francis grabbed Nowitzki and threw him to the floor. Dallas won the game 114-95.

It was the second time in eight days a Rockets player has been fined. On Nov. 10, Charles Barkley and Los Angeles Lakers center Shaquille O'Neal were ejected following their wrestling match.

O'Neal was fined $10,000 for throwing a punch at Barkley. Barkley was fined $5,000 for throwing a ball at O'Neal.
