Florida woman says officers knocked out teeth, left her topless after arrest

Ashleigh Davis Lake County Sheriff's Office

(CBS) A Florida woman is suing police in Lake County after she says she was hogtied, left topless and had her teeth knocked out during an arrest on a drunk and disorderly charge last year.

According to  WFTV, Ashleigh Davis filed the lawsuit against the Lake County Sheriff's Office and the Leesburg Police Department last Tuesday, calling her arrest at Bike Week in April 2011 humiliating.

Davis said after her bikini top came off during the arrest she was hogtied, led through the crowd topless and taken to the Leesburg Police Department, WFTV reports. Video from police holding cells shows Davis topless on the floor surrounded by male officers.

NBC affiliate WESH reports Davis says after she bit an officer who covered her mouth with his hand, he slammed her face on the ground and knocked out three of her front teeth.

Although Davis admitted she likely deserved to be arrested, she says should not have been treated the way she was, WESH reports.

According to WFTV, Davis' lawsuit, filed by her attorney, alleges excessive force.
