Florida sheriff: 3 dead, 2 hurt after double murder and suicide
SARASOTA, Fla. — Three people have died in an incident that a Florida sheriff's office is describing as a "double murder and suicide."
In a statement posted on Twitter, Sarasota sheriff's officials said deputies were called to reports of a shooting at a home late Monday.
In addition to the three who died, another woman is in critical condition after a gunshot wound and man was treated and released for minor injuries, reports CBS affiliate WTSP.
"All involved parties" have been accounted for and there is no threat to the public, police said.
Investigators said there is no threat to anyone in the neighborhood and that all the victims knew each other.
No additional details have been released.
