Fla. man, 90, accused of threatening postal worker with gun

BOCA RATON, Fla. - A 90-year-old man is accused of threatening a U.S. Postal Service employee when he wasn't satisfied with the service at a post office near Boca Raton.

According to the Palm Beach Post, authorities say that on Monday evening, HB Shea went to a post office counter and asked if the clerk could fill out a form for him. The clerk declined, and the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office says Shea screamed at the employee and left.

Moments later, according to the sheriff's report, Shea was back, but this time with a handgun.

The sheriff's office says he pointed the gun at the employee and threatened to "blow his head off."

Responding deputies took the suspect into custody outside the post office. The incident report says deputies recovered the firearm and placed it into evidence. He was taken to West Boca Medical Center for evaluation.

Officials say that once he's released, he'll be booked into the Palm Beach County Jail on state charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Federal postal police are also expected to file charges of bringing a gun into a post office.
