Fla. high schooler records sex act at school, two students arrested, report says

(CBS) - Two Florida students were arrested Tuesday morning in connection to an alleged sex act at a Pasco County high school that was recorded and sent to other classmates, CBS affiliate WTSP reports.

Pasco County Sheriff's officials said a 17-year-old male student and a 15-year-old female student were having sex in the media center at Fivay High School when another male student caught them in the act and recorded the encounter with his cell phone.

Detectives said a female student told them that the male who taped the encounter sent the recording to her cellphone, WTSP reports.

That male student allegedly admitted to detectives that he recorded the sexual encounter and sent it to another girl, according to the station. For that, he was charged with promoting and transmitting child pornography.

The 17-year-old male admitted to having sex with the girl in the school's media center and was charged with lewd and lascivious battery, the station reports.

The 15-year-old female told detectives that the sex was consensual, but she wasn't aware she was being recorded. She was not charged, according to WTSP.

School officials said more students could be in trouble because anyone in possession of the recording could be subject to arrest, WTSP reports.

"It's a felony to even possess that type of video," said Linda Cobbe, spokesperson for the Pasco School District. "It's a felony to share it, as well."
