First Daughter's Boyfriend

Despite her parents' efforts to keep her life out of the spotlight, news of Chelsea Clinton's love interest has leaked out.

The New York Daily News reported in Wednesday's editions that Chelsea has a new boyfriend.

Jeremy Kane is who's coming for dinner. A classmate at Stanford University, Kane interned this past summer in the speechwriting department at the White House.

The News reports Kane and Chelsea have been dating for a while. They spent New Year's Eve together in D.C. last year and were seen going to church with the President in April out in California. Kane even accompanied Chelsea to the Democratic convention in Los Angeles last month.

Like Chelsea's last beau, Kane was part of his university's swim team. He even broke several records when he started swimming for Stanford.

When the newspaper reached Kane by phone at the White House Tuesday, he avoided comment by saying: "I don't know where you're getting your information from. Thanks for the phone call."

Likewise the Clintons' spokesman told the New York newspaper there would be no comment about the first daughter "or her private life."

However a White House source did tell The News that Kane and Chelsea are together.

"He's been in the picture for a while," a source said. "He's a good kid."

But as in all relationships, only time will tell if he is "the one" for Chelsea.

This semester Kane is expected to head back to school as a senior, while Chelsea is taking the semester off. The first daughter has been participating in her mother’s run for Senate in New York.
