Find Mobile Versions of Your Favorite Sites
Unless you've got a PDA that can surf the real internet (say, an overpriced iPhone), you're probably used to the phenomenon of typing in a url and getting back an unreadable page filled with scripts and gibberish. But many sites are now offering stripped-down mobile versions of themselves that leave out the images and fancy design that make them so hard to read on a two-inch screen. The only question is, how to find them?
In Thursday's New York Times, that particular mystery is solved. Go to www.cantoni.org/palm for a list of mobile versions of sites for travel, newspapers, sports, and social networking. It's not an all-inclusive list, but it's a great start for making your PDA surfing experience much more practical and enjoyable.
