Felicia Becomes Category 3 Hurricane
Hurricane Felicia is a major storm after gaining strength far out in the Pacific.
The National Hurricane Center says Felicia's maximum sustained winds Wednesday have increased to near 115 mph, raising it to a Category 3 storm and making it a major hurricane.
Felicia is centered about 1,370 miles west-southwest of the southern tip of Mexico's Baja California peninsula and is moving northwest near 12 mph.
Meanwhile, Tropical Storm Enrique over the Pacific has maximum sustained winds near 50 mph. It is expected to weaken and dissipate in the next two days. Enrique is centered about 880 miles west-southwest of Baja California and is moving northwest near 16 mph.
