Fall Into Hot New Music

Ricky Martin, Madonna, U2; they're just a few of the dozens of artists with hot new albums on the shelves this fall, VH1's Rebecca Rankin reports for CBS News.

Hootie and the Blowfish, Lenny Kravitz's greatest hits, Shawn Mullins, U2, a Tom Petty anthology, and the soundtrack to Charlie's Angels are all hitting stores this month.

Ricky Martin's back with a new album, Sound Loaded, and a whole new vibe.

"The guy that recorded La Vida Loca and the guy that recorded
She Bangs is completely a different person,"
said Martin.

"The unifying theme, I think, really is that there's no unifying theme," said Chris Farley, Time magazine's music critic. "It's a lot of people releasing follow-ups, releasing second albums, third albums, showing that they have some power."

Madonna has created a buzz once again with her hit single Music. It's her 12th number one song, and the title track from her latest album.

"The core of Madonna never changes, so if you really like Madona to begin with, you'll like this album," said Farley.

Another rock veteran, U2, is back with All That You Can't Leave Behind. The album's less techno, and more of a return to the basics.

Madonna's Music has been at the top of the charts since its release in September. Right now it's at the number six position. U2's latest hits stores Oct. 31, and Ricky's new album comes out on November 14.
