FAIL: Escalator malfunction sends riders flying

Check out this surveillance video of an escalator malfunction at the L'Enfant Plaza metro station in Washington, D.C.

Dozens of people are seen falling to the ground after an escalator's speed accelerated and the braking system failed to stop the action.

The incident reportedly occurred on Oct. 30th, 2010, following Comedy Central's "Rally to Restore Sanity."
