Eva Amurri and Kyle Martino tie the knot

(CBS) Susan Sarandon has a new son-in-law.

Her daughter, actress Eva Amurri, married former Major League Soccer player Kyle Martino on Saturday in Charleston, S.C.

"It's official: MRS. KYLE MARTINO!," Amurri shared on Twitter. "We are thrilled and have danced our faces off! Here's to a lifetime, twitterverse! Xoxo"

Martino also tweeted the happy news: "My wife @EAmurri and I are on cloud 9. Wow...my wife! That just happened."

People magazine reports that the ceremony was officiated by Sister Helen Prejean, who was played by Sarandon in the 1995 film "Dead Man Walking." The nuptials were followed by a black-tie dinner and dancing.

Charleston was reportedly chosen because that is where Martino's parents live.

The bride, 26, wore a gown by Lela Rose, while the groom, 30, donned a tux by Brioni, according to the magazine. The mother-of-the-bride and bridesmaid dresses were also designed by Lela Rose.

Amurri and Martino, who is now a soccer commentator, announced their engagement in December.
