NEW YORK (CBS) Six men who brought drama to the small screen are in contention for the Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series award at this year's Primetime Emmys.

Jon Hamm as Don Draper, "Mad Men." Hamm plays Don Draper, a suave and collected partner in a 1960s advertising agency.
Kyle Chandler as Eric Taylor, "Friday Night Lights." Chandler plays Eric Taylor, a high school football coach in a small Texas town.
Hugh Laurie as Dr. Gregory House, "House." Laurie plays Dr. Gregory House, a cynical and sarcastic medical genius who heads a team of diagnosticians.
Michael C. Hall as Dexter Morgan, "Dexter." Hall plays Dexter Morgan, a blood spatter analyst who moonlights as a serial killer, but only kills those who do harm to others.
Bryan Cranston as Walter White, "Breaking Bad." Cranston plays Walter White, a high school chemistry teacher who starts making and selling methamphetamine to provide for his family after receiving a terminal cancer diagnosis.
Matthew Fox as Jack Shephard, "Lost." Fox plays Jack Shephard, a spinal surgeon who leads a pack of survivors who live through a plane crash and land on a mysterious island.
