Elzbieta Plackowska Update: Illinois mom denied bond in stabbing deaths of two suburban Chicago children

(CBS) NAPERVILE, Ill. - Elzbieta Plackowska, the woman accused of fatally stabbing her son and a little girl that she was babysitting was denied bond in a hearing today, reports CBS Chicago.

Plackowska, 40, is charged with two counts of first-degree murder in the stabbing deaths of the two small children at a suburban town home on Tuesday night.

Naperville Police Chief Bob Marshall called it the most gruesome and horrific crime scene he had ever witnessed in over 30 years of law enforcement.

Police recovered two knives, one in the kitchen of the home. The other was in Plackowska's car, reports the station.

The mother of the slain girl, Marta Dworakowski, called police after she arrived home from work on Tuesday night. She became concerned because a door that was normally opened was locked.

Before that call, police were called to a residence in the 700 block of Violet Circle, where the defendant was found covered in blood. At that point, Plackowska claimed she had been the victim of a robbery. After being questioned, she later changed here story and allegedly admitted she had killed the children.

Prosecutors say that Plackowska allegedly stabbed her 7-year-old son, Justin, 100 times and stabbed 5-year-old Olivia Dworakowski 50 times. Plackowska reportedly said she killed the little girl because she had witnessed her kill her son.

Two dogs were also found slain inside the home.
