Elzbieta Plackowska case: Judge orders psych exam for Ill. mom accused of stabbing son, girl
(CBS/AP) WHEATON, Ill. - A DuPage County judge has ordered a mental examination for Elzbieta Plackowska, a Chicago-area woman accused of stabbing her 7-year-old son, and a 5-year-old girl she was babysitting, to death.

The Daily Herald reports Judge Robert Kleeman granted a prosecution request Tuesday to evaluate Plackowska. Public defender Mike Mara objected and wanted the matter postponed.DuPage County State's Attorney Robert Berlin said he believes Plackowska's attorneys may use an insanity defense.
According to the Chicago Sun-Times, Kleeman also said media cameras may be allowed in the courtroom next week for Plackowska's Nov. 21 arraignment, but he will make a final decision next week.
The 40-year-old was arrested last month after police went to the Naperville home and found the children dead.
Berlin said Plackowska first told police she killed the children because she believed the devil was inside them. He said she later admitted she killed her son to hurt her husband, and the girl because she was a witness.
