Ellen Pompeo welcomes second child

Surprise! Just like her "Grey's Anatomy" character, Ellen Pompeo is now a mother of two.

The actress announced Thursday that she and husband Chris Ivery recently welcomed a daughter via a surrogate.

"Sienna May Ivery, welcome to the world," she wrote on Instagram, sharing a photo of her husband and new little one.

She added more details on Twitter: "Sienna was born via surrogate & I would like to thank my whole @ShondalandTV family for helping us enjoy these first few weeks privately."

Pompeo, 44, and music producer Ivery, 46, married in 2007 and welcomed their first child, daughter Stella Luna, two years later.

"Grey's Anatomy" is now in its 11th season, airing Thursday nights on ABC.
