Barkin, 57, got caught up in the incident and chronicled it all on Twitter, as her rumored boyfriend, director Sam Levinson, captured it on video.

The actress blasted cops for shoving her in the midst of "random arrests," calling the behavior "questionable police violence."

"Walking home...13th & 6th, police making random arrests of non protesters," she wrote. "Young girl in police van screaming'I'm just trying 2 get home.'"

Barkin later added, "Just threatened on my street by NYPD,cop shoved me,both hands, onto sidewalk..Is it a crime 2 stand in the street in NY?WTF is going on here?"

Barkin, a New York native, has been a vocal supporter of the OWS movement. After she got home on Sunday, Barkin criticized New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg and the New York City Police Department.

"I have never been afraid of a NY policeman until last nite," she wrote. "What I saw was random &senseless arrests and unnecessarily threatening behavior."

Barkin has since refuted reports that she was pushed to the ground that night.

"I was walking home," she explained. "I saw it. It was upsetting, and looked unnecessarily aggressive & random.I tweeted about it, as is my right. That's all."
