Edwards Kicks Off Caucus Day

(CBS)
From CBS News' Aaron Lewis:

DES MOINES, IOWA -- In his final push towards tonight's caucuses, John Edwards rallied a local steelworkers union this morning in the first of three rally stops in the Hawkeye State today.

Edwards reminded his supporters that he has remained at or near the top of Iowa polls with his top two rivals Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama all year long.

"Two campaigns believed that their money would make them inevitable," said Edwards. "But tonight Iowa caucusgoers are going to prove that our campaign to stand up for the middle class and stop corporate greed in America is unstoppable."

The rally at the United Steelworkers Local 164 had significantly fewer supporters than a similar event at the same location just two nights ago. But they were loud and excited enough to make good pictures for the nearly two dozen cameras in the room.

Two more rallies are scheduled today in Iowa City and Cedar Rapids before tonight's caucuses.
