Editors of Extremist Islamist Online Magazines, Including Woman, To Appear On Saudi TV Today

The editor of an online jihadi women's magazine will appear on Saudi TV Channel 1 tonight. The woman, who used the name Om Osama on militant Islamist Internet websites, was the editor of the "Al Khansaa" magazine and will appear, together with the editor of another magazine called "Jihad Echo," on a new 30-minute weekly Saudi program to discuss issues of importance to Saudi society. Sociology, security and Islamic law experts will also participate in the program.

This is not the first time that Saudi Arabia airs statements by former terrorists or participants in online Internet forums. The Saudi government seems to believe this helps in fighting the spread of extremist ideas amongst Saudis.
