Easily Reinstall Windows Drivers with DriverMax
If you've ever reformatted a hard drive and reinstalled Windows, you know that the biggest hassle is finding and installing all the drivers for your hardware. DriverMax promises to take the pain away by exporting all your currently installed drivers, then importing them after you've reinstalled Windows.
I tried the export function of the program, and it worked like a charm, copying all my drivers to a set of clearly identified folders. I wish it would create an executable so that the drivers could be reinstalled automatically; as it stands, you have to install DriverMax and the run the import function (which looks to be just as simple as exporting).
But that's a minor gripe. DriverMax is an absolutely essential tool for IT folks and anyone planning a system wipe/reinstall. The program is free, though you do have to provide an e-mail address to get a registration code. It's compatible with Windows 2003, XP, and Vista.
