Dwayne Ballen

This is Ballen's first year as reporter for CBS Sports’ coverage of NCAA Men’s Basketball Championship.

He has provided play-by-play for FOX Sports Net and Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference football and basketball broadcasts since 1998. He acted as studio host for FOX Sports News (1996-98). He anchored FSN’s on-site coverage of 1997 Final Four. He acted as studio anchor/host for Golf Channel (1994-96). He was lead anchor for “Golf Central” and anchored 1995 Ryder Cup coverage. He was a sports anchor and reporter for WTVD-TV Durham, N.C. (1985-94). He was a reporter for ABC Sports’ college basketball coverage (1994).

Ballen began his broadcasting career began at WAFF-TV Huntsville, Ala. as weekend sports anchor (1983-85)…attended University of South Carolina at Columbia (1978-80). He is a three-time Associated Press Award winner.

He was born July 27, 1961 in Conway, S.C….lives in Durham, N.C. with wife and two children.
