Dustin Hoffman's directing debut stars UK heavyweights
(CBS) Like many actors before him, Dustin Hoffman is directing. The Academy Award winner will helm "Quartet," based on a play by Ronald Harwood.
The play "Quartet" is about retired musicians living together. The cast list for Hoffman's screen version (which was adapted by the playwright) is stacked with top British talent. Michael Gambon, Maggie Smith, Billy Connolly and Tom Courtenay are all listed as cast members.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, filming starts this week and continues for nine weeks.
