Dumas Arrested On Drug Charges
Former NBA player Richard Dumas, whose career has been overshadowed by drug troubles, had nothing to say Friday about his arrest at a motel on drug-related complaints.
The 29-year-old Dumas was released on his own recognizance following his arrest Thursday evening on complaints of possessing drugs and paraphernalia.
"I'm not talking about that," Dumas told The Associated Press when reached at his mother's Tulsa home. He said he planned to contact his lawyer.

Police arrested Dumas and another man after going to the motel with information of possible drug activity. They also had an outstanding misdemeanor warrant against Dumas alleging failure to wear a seatbelt.
Officers allowed into the room saw drug paraphernalia and later found a bag containing rocks that allegedly tested positive for cocaine, reports show. A crack pipe was found in the toilet, the officers said.
Officers reported that Dumas told them he bought the crack cocaine and intended to give it to a friend.
Sgt. Dale Eberle, spokesman for the Tulsa County Sheriff's Department, said Dumas was booked into jail and released early Friday.
Dumas played just two years at Oklahoma State before drug problems ended his college career. He turned pro in Israel and the Phoenix Suns drafted him in 1991.
He made the team but failed a random drug test just before the 1991-92 season. Dumas missed that season and part of the 1992-93 season.
Dumas played 48 games and started 33 in 1992-93, averaging 15.8 points and 4.6 rebounds. He played in 23 playoff games.
But the Suns waived him after a 1995 season in which he played in 15 games and averaged only 5.5 points and 2.0 rebounds. Dumas later joined the Philadelphia 76ers as a free agent but spent most of the time on the bench, even before a foot injury ended his season in 1996.
Dumas said Friday that he had played four months for a team in Poland but recently left it because it was about to fold.
