Dueling Zuckerbergs: "The Social Network" versus "The Simpsons"

While movie-goers lined up to see the release of "The Social Network" over the weekend - the early box office take is estimated at $23 million - the film's main character was busy elsewhere making his own Hollywood cameo.

Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg had a brief walk-on during Sunday night's "Loan-A-Lisa" episode of "The Simpsons, joking with the notion that a college degree is a sine qua non to later business success.

Facebook PR chief Brandee Barker let the news leak in a teasing tweet that she later confirmed to CBSNews.com.

Happenstance or not - Facebook says the walk-on bit was filmed months earlier - Zuckerberg's cameo came only a couple of days after he also made a splash by pledging to donate $100 million to Newark's public school system. (In the film, the Zuckerberg character, a composite sketch partly based on a portrayal in Ben Mezrich's book The Accidental Billionaires: The Founding of Facebook, A Tale of Sex, Money, Genius, and Betrayal is the opposite of Homer Simpson-cuddly.) Friends and associates have challenged the accuracy of Hollywood's depiction of Zuckerberg in the film.
