Drew Peterson calls Lifetime movie about his legal troubles "hysterical"

(CBS) JOLIET, Ill. - Drew Peterson said the Lifetime made-for-TV movie about his legal troubles that aired over the weekend was "hysterical."

CBS Chicago reports Peterson watched the movie in the Will County Jail, and chuckled several time during the film. Peter's attorney and the family of his missing fourth wife Stacy Peterson think "Drew Peterson: Untouchable" is laughable and full of mistakes.

Peterson's attorney, Joel Brodsky, says the movie will not influence a potential jury pool as Peter awaits trial for the murder of Kathleen Savio, his third wife.

"Look it, anybody that believes a made-for-TV movie accurately portrays the facts probably doesn't belong on the jury in the first place," Brodsky said.

Brodsky said anyone who believes "facts" from a made-for-TV movie doesn't belong on a jury anyway.

Even Stacy Peterson's spokeswoman might agree.

"This is just purely for entertainment reasons, and I think the public generally understands that, because they've already heard the story," she said.

In the movie, Rob Lowe plays the former Bolingbrook police sergeant Peterson. Lowe plays him as a womanizing and controlling misogynist. Kaley Cuoco of "The Big Bang Theory" fame portrays Stacy Peterson, while Cara Bonon of "Mad Men" notoriety plays third wife Kathleen Savio.

Peterson's stepbrother, Thomas Morphey, is played by William Mapother and renamed "Glenn," and is shown helping put a suspicious blue barrel into Peterson's sport-utility vehicle. Stacy Peterson's family has suspected her body might have been in the barrel.

The real Drew Peterson was charged with murder after Savio's body was exhumed, and investigators concluded that her 2004 death was a homicide, rather than an accidental drowning. Peterson has not been charged in Stacy's disappearance but remains a person of interest.
